The publication of the crime novel Erakko was celebrated on 26 August 2026 in the Kupolisali of Kallio Library. Koivisto was interviewed by special correspondent Tiina Merikanto. The hall was full of an enthusiastic audience.
Meritta Koivisto's latest crime novel, Erakko (The Hermit), invites readers to reflect on the boundaries of ethics. The book continues the thriller series in which Swedish criminal investigator Harriet Jaatinen solves the cases. Erakko is the fourth installment in the series and Koivisto's eighth novel.
The fourth installment, Erakko, will be published as a printed book on August 5th by Avain!
Meritta Koivisto is featured in the international magazine FAWCO the Inspiring Women “Art Works” issue in December 2025. She tells about the creative writing process of her acclaimed novel The Vienna Sketchbook.

Film Adaptation of The London Lover in Development
Lisa Blok-Linson:
“Ever since reading a translation draft of Meritta Koivisto’s novel The London Lover, we have been developing the movie project, which we feel will make an intriguing film. The UK offers tax incentives that make it very attractive for filmmakers to work there. Luckily for us, Meritta’s story takes place in the UK, so it makes perfect sense to film it where the story unfolds! Since our production will be based in London, we have no issues with external tariffs. Making an independent film takes time and perseverance, and we hope to go into production in 2027.”

Lisa Blok-Linson has produced several international films, including The Beaches of Agnès for French filmmaker Agnès Varda. She has worked in Hollywood for over 25 years in various levels of production. In addition to his collaborations with filmmakers such as Haskell Wexler and Sean Penn, Phillip Linson spent many years as Head of Production and Post-Production at the American Film Institute Conservatory.

The body of sociologist Theodor Wright is found when his house in the woods outside Stockholm burns to the ground. A 17-year-old girl was previously found dead in the same forest, and the two cases leave investigator Harriet Jaatinen deep in thought. When Harriet travels to Los Angeles for Interpol training, she hears about a missing young woman. The cases share unsettling similarities. Investigating leads Harriet to the most difficult criminal case of her career — one entangled with the ethics of the pharmaceutical industry and the distress of young people. Where is the line between ethics and the abuse of power?
